River Charter

We're working on a charter for the River Char.
For more information about what a charter means, benefits it offers and how it might work please read the drafts on this page and see 'Our Sources' for further information.

Our draft charter(s)

We have drafted two charters  for the River Char.
  • One is a Charter based on the River Dart charter (see sources on this page).
  • The other is a Declaration of Rights for the River Char based on the Universal Declaration of the Rights of Rivers.

Now we need local residents, schools, farmers and river lovers to get involved in discussing them, fine-tuning them and agreeing which version to use. Will you help? Please use the Contact form to get in touch and we'll arrange a meeting.
